In 1989 Evergreen Aviation started its foray into the wine industry by purchasing a pinot noir vineyard. Since then we have been planting pinot noir grapes on lush, fertile land in the heart of Oregon’s wine country - Yamhill County. Yamhill County is recognized for producing some of the finest pinot noir grapes in the world. In 2002 Evergreen produced its first pinot noir under the Spruce Goose label. The Spruce Goose - Howard Hughes’ famous flying boat - is an inspiration for Evergreen in its innovation and the dreams that inspired the plane’s creation. Evergreen continues to act on our dreams and to put the same innovations into the creation of our wines. In 2004 we produced our first pinot gris, our first rosé and a crisp, sparkling pinot noir juice - all under the Spruce Goose Label. We continue to produce wine and plant grapes with innovation and the drive to produce the best tasting wines we can. |
